PROSTATE CANCER'S FOREMOST LAYMAN PASSES ON
January 24, 2008 - With deep regret, PCRI announces the passing of Harry Pinchot.
Harry Pinchot was widely recognized as perhaps the most knowledgeable layman
concerning prostate cancer ??? its biology, its prevention, and its treatment. While this was a
remarkable achievement, it was, in a sense, inevitable, because Harry had a passionate belief in
the importance of education and the application of continuing education to practical realities.
In his case, this became prostate cancer.

Making Prostate Cancer History in California
Being diagnosed with prostate cancer is always scary.
Thankfully, there are three local organizations here to help.
Together, the California Prostate Cancer Coalition, Us-TOO,
and the American Cancer Society are dedicated to:
- Reducing the incidence of prostate cancer through life long
exercise and better food choices, and teaching that it is never
too late to change old habits;
- Detecting existing prostate cancer early enough to cure;
- Developing better treatment options by supporting research;
- Establishing support groups for men with prostate cancer and
their friends and loved ones;
- Helping to pay for treatment for men in financial diifficulty in California.
